The following are resources that Obadiah’s Wildfire Fighters occasionally relies on.

Current National Situation Report (PDF)
– Situation reports are valuable when fighting fire and most crews throughout the country are briefed with them on a daily basis. SRs provide information on new starts, containments, resources committed, and other valuable information that can help in predicting where and how much assistance is needed.

Fire Weather Forecasts
– The National Weather Service provides fire weather by region to fire crews across the nation. This information is used on a daily basis at federal, state, and contractor levels to determine how fire resources are best spent on a fire or in areas with potential fire danger. This site provides an interactive map to assist you in finding current information based on your location.

National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) – Based in Boise, ID, the NIFC represents eight different agencies and organizations and functions as a support center for the nation’s wildland firefighters.

CAL FIRE – The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is dedicated to the fire protection and stewardship of over 31 million acres of California’s privately-owned wildlands.
